Seattle Social & 2014 Planning - Event Recap

What’s the best kind of holiday party? The low-stress kind!

The Seattle Chapter opened up its December Leadership Team meeting to the public, giving them four great reasons to attend:

1. The WIWSEA leadership team believes annual planning goes better with some vino in hand - so we had great J. Bookwalter wine, pizza, and salad.

2. We wanted the community to have a say in 2014 planning. This was a great time for the membership and prospects to voice their ideas and get involved. We ended up with a great list!

3. As with every event, we collected mobile device donations to raise funds for our community project. We invited people to bring any old flip phones, smart phones or tablets.

4. We know how busy the holiday season gets - so we held an event with no pressure to wrap gifts, bake, or clean!

Event Recap: WiW NY Holiday Party

On Dec 4, 2014, Women in Wireless NYC/Tri-State held its holiday party at Stout. We had 119 people attend the event, raising just over $3000 in both ticket sales and raffle tickets.

Event Recap: WiW LA Holiday Mixer

Women in Wireless Los Angeles and The Ad Society hosted the first Holiday Mixer of the season in Los Angeles at Michael's Restaurant in Santa Monica. A diverse group of advertising professionals attended which included CBS Interactive and Universal Pictures. WiWLA was able to gain exposure and generate significant leads for future memberships from the joint event.

Two raffles were conducted: A $50 happy hour gift card by Michael's plus a combined gift from Universal Pictures(Minion Monopoly) and Dreamworks (blue ray of the movies The Croods and Turbo). Overall attendance for the event was over 50 people which was the most significant attendance record for a WIWLA event.

A Happy Holiday Mixer was had by all!

Event Recap: Mobile Marketer's Mobile Women to Watch 2014

Mobile Marketer presented its first Mobile Women to Watch 2014 Summit on Tuesday, Nov. 5 in New York. Just over 100 attendees joined the Mobile Marketer team to listen to female executives from Ford, Macy’s, Gilt Groupe and others discuss their mobile strategies, as well as the opportunities and challenges that women face in mobile marketing today.

Mobile Women to Watch 2014 Summit - Special Offer for Women in Wireless Members!

Multi-City Networking Event - Boston Recap

On Tuesday night, as several Women in Wireless chapters gathered around the globe, some of the top players in the Boston mobile scene came together at the Jumptap Headquarters, to get to know one another, network, and discuss the ever-changing industry.

Stunning views of Boston's seaport district were the perfect backdrop for the third annual Women in Wireless Global Networking event, which was made possible by the generous sponsorships of Jumptap and Nexage.

Multi-City Networking Event - Hamburg Recap

On September 10th, while other Women in Wireless chapters gathered together in cities across the world, the WiW chapter of Hamburg came together again at the trendy Pius Wine Bar. The event was sponsored by Smaato & Hamburg@Work, and the excitement and enthusiasm could have not been any better.

The evening started off with a warm welcome and the delicious signature ‘Women in Wireless Champagne Cocktail’ that put everyone in great spirits.


The networking began and the 25 ladies were very engaged; taking notes, exchanging cards and making plans when the bell rang. The evening concluded with a drawing and everyone received a nice gift! Big thanks to all those who attended and our very generous sponsors.

Multi-City Networking Event - Seattle Recap

On September 10th, the newly created Seattle Women in Wireless Chapter teamed up with T-Mobile’s Women Leadership Network in their Bellevue office to host their 3rd meeting.






A total of 119 women participated in the WiW’s Global Speed Networking Event, where professionals from around the globe unite on the same day to meet, mingle, and discuss current issues relevant to women in the wireless industry. Both
Sheryl Tullis and Charl Lee Pearce led the group in speaking about the mission of Women in Wireless, while Janice Lichtenwaldt joined in to speak on behalf of the T-Mobile Women’s Leadership Network. It was an ideal way to bring together two groups that both want to empower and develop female leaders in mobile and digital media.

After the initial introductions and networking, the women chose a table to sit at that had discussion topics ranging from, “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?” to “Who should be on your personal advisory board?” After the answers were noted by a self-appointed ‘scribe’ the women moved on to a new table with a new set of questions and participants, maximizing their exposure to different points of view and opportunities to network.

Many of the tables were soon discussing topics participants felt passionate about, as the original questions were designed as a springboard to deeper discussions.

Multi-City Networking Event - Los Angeles Recap

The Los Angeles Women in Wireless 3rd Annual Global Speed Networking event was a fun-filled evening, powered by Sapient Nitro. 

The evening was all about helping mobile and digital professionals connect with new customers, ideas, technologies, business opportunities, and each other. An impressive record attendance of 66% of those that registered showed up, plus walk-ins!

Multi-City Networking Event - New York Recap

Women in Wireless launched their new Tri State (NY, NJ, CT) chapter along with the Multi-City event on September 10, 2013 at the DataXu offices in NYC. The event was fortunate to have five sponsors including Celtra, DataXu, Medialets, AdTheorent, and Vdopia. DJ Sarah Sims also donated her time to keep the music going throughout the night.

The event drew over 100 attendees, who participated in a speed networking session hosted by Celtra. Participants also had fun in the photo booth and shared pictures of the event via Instagram using the hashtag #WIWGlobal. There was a lot of discussion and laughter at the event; the chapter team received many questions and interest from other ladies hoping to become more active in the organization.  Also in attendance were brands such as Macy’s, Jetblue, and Saks 5th Avenue as well as agencies such as M&C Saatchi, BPN, and TWA. 

Multi - City Networking Event - London Recap

The London Event saw over 30 ladies attend the exclusive private members bar Adam Street, off the Strand in central London. The WiW ladies had cocktails and later on tucked into some wonderful fair courtesy of Twilio. Ladies (and one gentleman!) in attendance ranged from companies including France Telecom, Infosys Lodestone, Mastercard, MEF, Qustodian, Braintree Payments, YPlan, Vertu, Accenture, Shhmooze and The Embassy of Finland - a wonderful evening was had by all!
